Corn Relish

This was Anna Ruhland Kieber’s recipe that she received from her friend on the Cattauragus Indian Reservation, oh so many years ago.  Wish we knew more about this long time friend of the family. This makes 7 pints of delicious relish.

INGREDIENTS

12 good sized ears of corn

3 good sized onions

1 small head cabbage

1 lb. sugar

1/2 c. salt

stick of celery

4 good sized cucumbers

2 c. vinegar

2 TBS. dry mustard

1 red hot pepper

DIRECTIONS

1. Chop all vegetables the size of corn kernels

2. Boil for 15 minutes

3. Place in jars and sterilize
