Mom made this every year at Christmastime. Marie also made it for many years.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 C. sugar
1/2C. ground suet
1/3 C. milk
1/2 C. raisins
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
1/2 C. walnuts
1 egg well beaten
1/2 C. currants
1 C. flour
1/2 t. allspice
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. cloves
DIRECTIONS
Combine sugar, egg, suet, and mix until smooth
Add milk, currants, and raisins
Sift dry ingredients and add gradually to above.
Add nuts and mix.
Turn into buttered bowl or mold (she used a coffee can) covered with wax paper and securely tied.
Place on rack in pressure cooker containing 5 cups water
Heat and allow steam to escape for 20 minutes
Place regulator of and cook for 50 minutes at 10 lbs. pressure
Let pressure drop of its own accord
