Grandma Lasecki’s Beef “Birds”

Sue says that this is a very Polish recipe! We had this fairly often growing up and though I haven’t had it for 50 years, I can still remember the taste and how delicious they were!!! If you make them, please send us a photo.

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. thinly slced beef — round or sirloin tip

Sliced bacon

Coarsely chopped onions

Toothpicks

DIRECTIONS

Place 1/2 slice bacon and some onions on a slice of beef

Fold in envelope fashion and hold together with toothpicks

Brown and simmer until tender

Make gravy from the pan drippings
